The Town of Hardisty was named after Senator Richard Hardisty. It began in 1906 as a Hamlet, and officially became a Town in 1911.

Located just two hours from the cities of Edmonton and Red Deer in the west and the City of Lloydminster in the east, the Town of Hardisty is perfectly situated for a weekend getaway or that long, summer camping trip. The Town of Hardisty's booming oil industry ensures strong and vibrant businesses that are here to support you, whether you're here for business or for pleasure. There's rarely need to leave town to find everything you need.
